About Muay Thai Academy

Muay Thai Academy is the first Muay Thai gym in U.S, which has the original Muay Thai academic and training. We teach self-defense by using fist, feet, knee, and elbow as the weapons, which is called Muay Thai. For the past 18 years, the students not only here in the U.S. have acknowledged us but throughout the world.

Our goal is to educate the students in the fighting style of Muay Thai. The goals are to improve coordination, stamina, fitness, bring discipline, modesty and have a bit of fun. We also offer competitions to enable student to gain fighting experience. We have trained majority of today’s U.S elite champions and have been around for over 18 years.

Muay Thai -Kru Puk

Surapuk Jamjuntr aka “Kru Puk” is the founder of the Muay Thai Academy and the president of the World Muay Thai Council of America. Fighting under the name Vayupal Lookpalabodee, he amassed 65 wins against 12 losses and three draws. He has a 35-15 record in Western Boxing. His first fight was at 11 years old where he earned $1.50 for the win. He holds a degree in Physical Education from Thailand. Kru Puk came to America in 1978 and is known as “The Godfather of Muay Thai.” He’s philosophy is to bring the best fighters from Thailand as instructors for the Muay Thai Academy.

Tae Kwon Do -Troy Fisher

Tae Kwon Do -Troy Fisher

Troy Fisher incorporates his 30 years of Tae Kwon Do and his 23 years of Muay Thai in his Women’s class. He’s a 4th degree Black Belt in Hapkido and holds a Physical Education degree from Fresno State University. He’s 1991 Gold Coast Black Belt Champion and the 1993 National Breaking Champion. Previously Troy was the Owner/Operator of Action Kicks, a Tae Kwon Do/Kickboxing gym for 11 years. Troy is trained under Kru Puk, Saekson Janjira and the legendary Coban Lookchaomaesaithong.

Staff

General Manager - Fook Sittikai

Wisanu Sittikai aka “Fook” is General Manager for the Muay Thai Academy, serving the staff, students and gym for membership, sales, and marketing. He assists Kru Puk in his classes, seminars and ranking test. He arrived in America when he was 12 and started training at MTA, since then he has fought with the Muay Thai Academy at local events, shows and festivals.
